Pat Palmer
Managing Partner of Marketplace Partners
Core Team Leader

Pat brings a wealth of business-building experience to the firm’s clients. She is a fan of business entrepreneurs- having long been one herself-and enjoys helping business owners achieve critical growth and profit goals.  Her mastery of business as well as sales/marketing strategy and practices is particularly useful in developing programs that drive growth and profit e.g., jump-start sales and sustain market momentum. Her knowledge comes from practical experience and leadership roles in start-up ventures, mid-sized companies, and large multi-national organizations.

Pat’s career began with seven years at Xerox Corporation in sales, sales management and marketing management. She describes this time as her “finishing school” learning a great deal about effective sales, marketing, and the power of teamwork. She went on to hold senior executive positions at James Martin & Co (now Headstrong), Execucom Systems, Comshare, and Comdisco. She was CEO of Optima, Inc. and Enterprise Solutions Inc.(both venture capital backed start-ups) before founding her current company in 1998.

Pat specializes in developing methods to bring best practices and fast-start approaches to bear on the internal and external obstacles to profitable growth that challenge many small-to-midsize organizations. She uses proven and repeatable processes that deliver good results for her clients–helping them to help themselves realize sustainable long-term gains. In addition to serving her small to mid-sized clients she has also provided management consulting services to Fortune 1000 companies such as AT&T, Anixter International, Ameritech/SBC (now At&T), Johnson Controls, Motorola and Sprint.

Pat is active in a number of community organizations including one that serves her passion for helping lost and injured animals, the Golden Retriever Rescue Group for Northern Illinois, “As Good As Gold”.
